61. Russell Moccasins – Wisconsin

Russell Laramie 5.5 “PH” Boots

Russell learns more by accident… listening to its customers… than most companies do through research. Loyal South Texas customer, Jeff Wemmer, a high quality hunting gear manufacturer himself, (Texas Hunt Co.), serious double gun shooter, safari hunter and “combat quail hunter” has been ordering Laramie Suede Russells for years. We finally asked him why. “Because Laramie suede leather breathes like a screen door! It’s the only way to go in a hot dry climate. It’s cooler, quiet and requires no maintenance.” When it came time to order a new pair, Mr. Wemmer requested a shorter boot… 5-1/2″ high rather than the normal 7″ safari boot height. Why? “For unrestricted ankle movement!” Thus the name, the Laramie 5.5 Safari “PH.” The 5.5 features tan Laramie Suede leather with chocolate brown kangaroo accents, tan cotton duck uppers and gussett for cooling plus a flat, (quiet), super sticky Vibram Newporter sole mated to a cushioned wedge midsole. Oh… and because Mr. Wemmer is always in a hurry, quick lacing studs in the top three eyelets. How did we do, Mr. Wemmer?
